Danny Ings first-half goal condemned Tottenham to their seventh Premier League defeat of the campaign as they were beaten 1-0 at Southampton after a horror performance from Jose Mourinho’s men.

Here’s how every Spurs player rated on the day.

Paulo Gazzaniga, 5 – Helpless with a goal, but was lucky to get away with fumbling Nathan Redmond’s tame first-half strike.

Serge Aurier, 2 – The cross he skewed out for a goal-kick in injury-time summed up what was another poor afternoon for the defender.

Toby Alderweireld, 4 – Sold far too easily by Ings for the winner, although he was better after that, making some crucial blocks and interventions.

Jan Vertonghen, 2 – Getting worse every week. Another woeful showing.

Ryan Sessegnon, 4 – His crossing was extremely disappointing, but he didn’t do too much wrong considering the rest of his team-mates.

Tanguy Ndombele, 7 – Spurs’ best player until he came off injured with yet another injury which will leave Mourinho scratching his head.

Moussa Sissoko, 5 – Received another booking and has been playing like the Moussa Sissoko of 2017/2018 in recent weeks.

Lucas Moura, 3 – Not good enough. Some terrible decisions throughout the evening.

Christian Eriksen, 4 – His corners were predictably poor and he was hardly better from open play.

Dele Alli, 2 – Too many flicks and tricks.

Harry Kane, 3 – Another quiet afternoon for the captain, who looks set for a spell on the sidelines after hobbling off late in the game with a suspected hamstring injury.

Giovani Lo Celso, 2 – Offered nothing.

Erik Lamela, N/A – Replaced the injured Kane.

  1. It’s getting worse. Not a player worth his place on the pitch today. Confidence lacking GK. Four defenders that appear not to know how to defend. An injury prone expensive waste of space and his French mate that give no protection to the back four. And forwards that pick and chose when they want to perform. Awful. Mid table rubbish at very best.

  2. Sorry Sig, but it was, it really was that bad. One of most putrid performances I can remember, possibly even worse than latter days of Poch. All poor (other than Ndombele’s cameo) but Alli was a disgrace and why leave a Sun unused and not at least give Winks a go to try to knit the midfield together?!

  3. Am going to make money as am going to put a bet(whatever the odds) on Spurs being the 1st club where Mourinho will not win a trophy.
A certainty and a money maker whatever the odds.

Mourinho is passé, finished, had it.

  4. I have supported spurs since 1967 and I can’t remember a spurs team playing worse than today.Nobody gets more than a 3 off me.

  5. Spurs seems getting worse so it is time for Spurs to buy new striker new central defender new midfielder
Erik Lamela and Eric Dier and Aurier must go
