Danny Ings first-half goal condemned Tottenham to their seventh Premier League defeat of the campaign as they were beaten 1-0 at Southampton after a horror performance from Jose Mourinho’s men.
Here’s how every Spurs player rated on the day.
Paulo Gazzaniga, 5 – Helpless with a goal, but was lucky to get away with fumbling Nathan Redmond’s tame first-half strike.
Serge Aurier, 2 – The cross he skewed out for a goal-kick in injury-time summed up what was another poor afternoon for the defender.
Toby Alderweireld, 4 – Sold far too easily by Ings for the winner, although he was better after that, making some crucial blocks and interventions.
Jan Vertonghen, 2 – Getting worse every week. Another woeful showing.
Ryan Sessegnon, 4 – His crossing was extremely disappointing, but he didn’t do too much wrong considering the rest of his team-mates.
Tanguy Ndombele, 7 – Spurs’ best player until he came off injured with yet another injury which will leave Mourinho scratching his head.
Moussa Sissoko, 5 – Received another booking and has been playing like the Moussa Sissoko of 2017/2018 in recent weeks.
Lucas Moura, 3 – Not good enough. Some terrible decisions throughout the evening.
Christian Eriksen, 4 – His corners were predictably poor and he was hardly better from open play.
Dele Alli, 2 – Too many flicks and tricks.
Harry Kane, 3 – Another quiet afternoon for the captain, who looks set for a spell on the sidelines after hobbling off late in the game with a suspected hamstring injury.
Giovani Lo Celso, 2 – Offered nothing.
Erik Lamela, N/A – Replaced the injured Kane.
