Tottenham are interested in signing defenders Max Aarons and Nordi Mukiele this month, according to Sky Sports.

Aarons, 19, has been a regular for Norwich City since last season, breaking into the team and becoming a regular at right-back. Spurs failed to replace Kieran Trippier in the summer after the England international left for Atletico Madrid, so a right-back is thought to be on Jose Mourinho’s shortlist.

Sky Sports claims Norwich value Aarons at around £30 million, rubbishing reports suggesting the price tag is upwards of £45 million. While that is probably affordable for Tottenham, the Londoners apparently face competition from Arsenal, Everton and West Ham United.

Meanwhile, the story goes on to reveal Mourinho is also keen on RB Leipzig centre-back Mukiele, who is set to come up against Spurs in the Champions League Round of 16 in February. It seems Mourinho wants the 22-year-old to be playing for Tottenham rather than against them.

It’s unclear how much Spurs will have to pay for the France Under-21 international. Mourinho may have to raise funds by selling the likes of Christian Eriksen.
