Tottenham have joined fellow Premier League top-six sides Liverpool and Chelsea in the race to sign Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White, according to Sky Sports.
The 22-year-old, who is currently on a season-long loan deal at Leeds United, has impressed at Elland Road this term and was named as the EFL Championship’s Best Young Player by Sky Sports in December after a string of excellent performances.
Jose Mourinho is in desperate need for a new central defender – with Jan Vertonghen’s future in doubt, whilst Toby Alderweireld’s form is a major concern.
White can’t be recalled from is season-long loan deal at Elland Road, so if Spurs are to complete a deal then they would have to agree a fee with the Seagulls before sending the defender back to Leeds for the remainder of the campaign.
White has made 27 appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s men this term – one of which came in the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup on Monday.
