Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp could remain at the club this month after the long-term injury Moussa Sissoko, according to The Athletic.
The report suggests that there has been plenty of interest from England and aboard for the 19-year-old in the current window, but Spurs need Skipp as potential cover in the central midfield area and aren’t expected to let him leave on loan this window.
Skipp has endured a frustrating season and has featured just six times in all competitions – with the Carabao Cup game against Colchester United his only start.
Only two of those appearances have come under Jose Mourinho, although the teenager has been a regular in matchday squads of late.
However, with Harry Winks and Eric Dier Tottenham’s only two fit senior central midfielder’s ahead of a busy January and February schedule, Skipp could be needed over the next few months and will no doubt be eyeing up next Tuesday’s FA Cup 3rd Round replay against Middlesbrough as more potential minutes in his development.
