Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen is set for further talks with Inter Milan this weekend after meeting with the European giants on Friday, according to Sky in Italy (as relayed by Sky Sports).

Eriksen is free to speak to Inter about pre-contract terms ahead of a potential free transfer next summer. But the Serie A club could make an offer to Spurs in order to sign Eriksen this month. The Dane is out of contract at the end of the season and isn’t expect to extend his stay with the Londoners.

Sky in Italy claims Inter ‘outlined an offer’ to Eriksen when they met with his representative on Friday. Further discussions have now been scheduled, but it’s unclear whether Inter would prefer to sign him now or wait until the summer to get him for nothing.

Tottenham would probably prefer to sell now so that they receive a fee. That said, there have been no strong links with any potential replacements. A defensive midfielder (Gedson Fernandes) and a striker (Krzysztof Piatek) appear to be the priorities for now.
