AC Milan are ready to make a £15 million offer for Tottenham defender Serge Aurier, according to Football London.
Upon his arrival as Mauricio Pochettino’s replacement, Jose Mourinho instantly put his faith in Aurier as his first-choice right-back. The Ivorian has started every league match under Mourinho and has impressed from an attacking point of view, if less so defensively.
Aurier has been given a role which means he can concentrating on getting forward more than tracking back, allowing him to get into advanced areas and whip in crosses. It was his pinpoint ball that led to Giovani Lo Celso missing a sitter in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League.
Regardless of his improvement under Mourinho, Spurs’ faith in Aurier is now apparently set to be tested. Football London claims AC Milan are considering a £15 million move for the full-back. The report suggests Tottenham are looking for closer to £25 million if they are to sell.
If Aurier does move on, Spurs would require a new right-back with Mourinho seemingly having little faith in Kyle Walker-Peters. With that in mind, we think it’s unlikely Aurier will be sold this month.
