Tottenham remain interested in signing Bruno Fernandes and could offer Juan Foyth to Sporting Lisbon on loan as a makeweight for the midfielder, according to Football London.
Fernandes has scored 13 goals in 24 appearances across all competitions this season and, like in the summer, continues to be linked with an exit from Sporting this month.
Football London claims Jose Mourinho wants to bring the 25-year-old to Spurs this month. It is believed Tottenham are willing to send Foyth to Sporting on loan in order to tempt the Portuguese club into selling Fernandes.
However, the report suggests Manchester United could be in pole position to sign the Portugal international as the Red Devils are able to ‘financially outmuscle’ Tottenham. That means Foyth’s involvement might be pivotal as it could make Spurs a more enticing prospect to do business with.
Christian Eriksen has been heavily linked with Inter Milan in recent days, so Tottenham are likely to be in need of a new attacking midfielder soon. That said, Erik Lamela and Giovani Lo Celso both impressed from the bench against Liverpool and could be given more minutes in upcoming games.
