Gedson Fernandes has described joining Tottenham and playing in the Premier League as a dream come true.
The 21-year-old midfielder became Jose Mourinho’s first signing on Wednesday after making the switch from Benfica on an 18-month loan deal. Spurs have the option to sign the Portuguese international on a permanent basis in the summer of 2021.
Fernandes, who could make his Tottenham debut at Watford on Saturday, will wear the number 30 shirt.
Speaking to Spurs’ official website, he said: “I am very happy today, I make my dream. For me it’s one big dream to play in this big club. I will try to give my best for this club, every day, every training, every game for this shirt. Every day I will try to be the best.
“I always dream to play in the Premier League. I know Moussa Sissoko, I know Eric Dier a little bit because he played in Portugal and I know the coach, because he’s a big coach.”
