It’s safe to say that 2020 hasn’t exactly gone to plan for Jose Mourinho and Tottenham – far from it in fact.

Forget Harry Kane’s potential season-ending hamstring injury, Spurs have collected just one point from their opening three Premier League games, crept past Championship side Middlesbrough after a replay in the FA Cup and currently sit eight points off the top-four.

Spurs began 2020 by deservedly losing at Southampton thanks to Danny Ings’ fine first-half opener – and in truth, didn’t come close to taking something from their trip to the South Coast.

They improved drastically against leaders Liverpool the following week, although some poor finishing from Heung Min Son and Giovani Lo Celso in particular meant they suffered consecutive Premier League defeats to the first time since May and had it not been for Paulo Gazzaniga’s save from Troy Deeney’s penalty on Saturday, Spurs would be on their worst league run for more than seven years.

Despite the draw at Vicarage Road, Tottenham failed to score once again and Mourinho’s out of sorts side are one of just three side in the whole of England yet to score in 2020.

  1. I am not a fan of Jose and his abilities as a coach as I believe in the philosophy of building a talent than buying what is on the market…our players have been mismanaged… in my opinion… by the coach and his team which is a direct result of ENIC and their policies. When I see Sheffield and Wolves play the way they do I am shocked to look at our defensive display against Liverpool. This season is the worst I have experienced in my years as a supporter of this great club.

    • Hey genius no team is winning anything with academy product. That ship is still at the drydock. No Captain to take charge. It is a farce. Pep and Kloppe came to England and mourn their first two seasons into getting their owners to buy the first best available and the second at each position. Get over your whining. If most clubs acted with some kind responsibility the way Spurs does. You would not have 22yrs with 2 assist and 75% passer ratings selling for 40m because they have loads of potential. So many good players would not have been gobble up by the big clubs and put to waste due to unrealistic expectation. Get a clue. Am not a fan Jose and his syle, but he is a winnner am will to give him the rest of the year nad next season. Oh Lord, just so much whinning. Levy. Enic. Joe, Erikssen
      Give it a break.

  2. Mismanaged by who? Jose? He’s only been there 5 minutes, any mismanagement goes back much further than that. Not sure he’s displayed a policy of “buying what is on the market” either. Good to prepared to give the new coaching set up a fair chance though. And if this is the worst season you’ve experienced in your years supporting Tottenham then you must be about 12 years old.
