Tottenham surrendered a lead late on at Southampton in the FA Cup fourth round and now face replay.

Son Heung-min gave Spurs the lead midway through the second half but Sofiane Boufal’s equaliser means the sides will face off again next month.

Here’s how every Tottenham player rated on the day.

Hugo Lloris, 6 – Wasn’t overworked. Could do little about the goal.

Serge Aurier, 4 – Didn’t get many crosses in and his clumsy defending led to the equaliser. Frustrating after some good form.

Toby Alderweireld, 6 – Solid for the most part. Might have gotten closer to his man to prevent the cross for the Saints goal.

Davinson Sanchez, 5 – A few wayward bits of defending but none of it led to anything significant.

Japhet Tanganga, 7 – Fortunate to get away with a handball but was mostly sturdy and threw himself at everything.

Harry Winks, 6 – Got Spurs going on the counter effectively. Could have offered more protection.

Gedson Fernandes, 5 – Hooked early in the second half as he was hardly involved.

Giovani Lo Celso, 8 – Excellent contribution for the goal and generally the visitors’ most effective player. Becoming more and more popular.

Dele Alli, 7 – His decision making wasn’t always right but he was involved in most of the best attacks.

Son Heung-min, 7 – Took his goal brilliantly. Missed a couple of other chances.

Lucas Moura, 5 – Grew into the game but missed the best chance in the first half and didn’t offer any hold-up play.

Substitutes

Erik Lamela, 6 – Made the goal and was involved in similar counters but often held onto the ball for too long.

Eric Dier, N/A – A late arrival to steady things at the back.

  1. Mate Ali in my opinion more like a 3. Didn’t make a tackle or interception that I saw. Dispossessed frequently . Clumsy in possession, wayward passing and a total makeweight today. Far too many little flicks and quasi jumps too. Should have been hooked far earlier. Spell on the bench is merited

      • By the way, I find it quite astonishing to see so many comments about Sonny being greedy.
        Seriously?

When Kane hogs the shots everyone keeps quiet, and with Son everyone batters him.
        Some shit?

To all you haters, Son has the 2nd most goals in Spurs 80 in all comp
He’s got 7 assists in League so far , 3 rd or 4th

        Greedy?

I’ll have him shoot more any day. He’s our most lethal threat.

  2. Winks disappoints all the time negative and slow moving the ball forward. And Moura apart from the odd goal Contributes little and goes missing at times

  3. Clearly Spurs needs new striker then result will be different.
Spurs was stuck no striker there so it is time to buy new striker but for sure Spurs won’t get new one that will be regrettable

    • The trouble is a “new striker” might take time to adjust to the Premier league and may never just like Soldado & Janssen. You need to get lucky and get the man who can adjust immediately. The chances are you’ll be unlucky.

  4. Son didn’t have a good game. Burnt out or just to many minutes ?
    Dele also looks tired.
Still can’t see how Mourinho wants to play.
