Christian Eriksen has thanked the Tottenham fans – and admitted that he wanted to “try something new” after his departure on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old ended his six-and-a-half year spell in north London on yesterday morning after his move to Serie A giants Inter Milan was completed.

Eriksen, who joined Spurs from Ajax for around £11m back in 2013, turned out to be one of the club’s best ever Premier League players – making a total of 305 appearances in all competitions, scoring 69 goals, whilst providing a number of memorable assists.

After his move to Inter was confirmed, he sent a message to his new fans, but didn’t mention anything about Tottenham. However, just over 24 hours later after training with his new teammates for the very first time, Eriksen reached out on social media – sending a farewell message to Spurs fans, thanking them for their support over the past seven seasons.

The message was as follows.

Dear Tottenham fans, I don’t know where to start! I didn’t have time to say goodbye to everyone, even though I felt like i played a lot of games where everyone said and thought I would be gone the next day. I have so many unbelievable memories over the last 6.5 years I was at Spurs. I enjoyed being at the training ground every day and playing games in the stadium so much, but sometimes you just want to try something new! So, Spurs fans it has been a pleasure to play at your club and hopefully we meet again in the future! All the best.

  1. This man is a snake he has planned this departure for two years since the summer tour of 2017 when he asked Mauricio to go with the squad , which he had been excluded from.i found peculiar at the time to give up his. holidays for the club his real reason was to put himself in the shop window for Real Madrid etc who were also on tour so I have no sympathy for this player who only gave his best when felt like it thank you

    • Well said
To be honest, he said goodbye to our club at that time too. Anyway, looking forward, excitited to see how we play with 11 on the pitch from now on! : )
