Tottenham have confirmed Giovani Lo Celso has returned to training and will be available for selection against Aston Villa this weekend.
Lo Celso missed last week’s FA Cup fourth round replay against Southampton because of a groin injury. Spurs still managed to secure a comeback victory in the tie despite the absence of arguably their most in-form player.
But the Argentine will be back for this weekend’s Premier League trip to Aston Villa, which means he should be available for huge fixtures against RB Leipzig and Chelsea next week. Tottenham confirmed the news via a Twitter post on Friday.

The club also revealed Erik Lamela will be assessed ahead of Sunday’s game. He joined Lo Celso on the sidelines against Southampton and still hasn’t fully recovered from a thigh problem.
Harry Kane (hamstring), Moussa Sissoko (knee) and Juan Foyth (groin) have all been ruled out of the Villa match, but January arrival Steven Bergwijn should return to the starting line-up after missing Southampton as he wasn’t registered.
With Tanguy Ndombele also available, it will be interesting to see if Jose Mourinho goes with a much-anticipated midfield trio of Harry Winks, Ndombele and Lo Celso. Perhaps it’s more likely Dele Alli will start instead of the Frenchman.
