A report from a news outlet in Portugal has revealed that Tottenham had agreed a deal to sign Barcelona forward Phillipe Coutinho in the summer of 2019.
Coutinho ended moving to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich on loan for the season, but towards the end of the window there were strong reports that Spurs were in a race to sign the Brazilian along with North London rivals Arsenal and his former side Liverpool.
Since joining Barcelona from Liverpool, Coutinho has struggled for form at Barcelona and Mauricio Pochettino was hoping to give his fellow South American a lifeline in the Premier League before the reported deal broke down and he opted for the switch to Germany.
Coutinho’s form in the German capital has improved, scoring nine goals and adding eight assists as Munich continue to fight on all three fronts – including what could be a first Champions League title of the the Brazilian’s career.
Thanks for telling us that Munich is the German Capital.
Pathetic article.
