Tottenham are interested in signing on-loan Borussia Dortmund defender Achraf Hakimi, according to reports in the player’s native Morocco.

Hakimi is coming to towards the end of a two-year loan spell at Dortmund from Real Madrid, whom he will return to next season unless he secures a summer transfer away from the La Liga giants.

The right-back has made 37 appearances across all competitions this term, scoring an impressive seven goals and registering 10 assists.

Moroccan outlet bladi.net claims Hakimi does not want to return to Madrid only to be a substitute next season, and there is said to be plenty of interest in the 21-year-old – including from Spurs.

The Londoners will apparently face competition from Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain for Hakimi’s signature, if they are genuinely keen to sign him.

And let’s be honest, they should be. Tottenham are in desperate need of a new right-back with Serge Aurier continuing to make mistakes at the back and Kyle Walker-Peters – who is currently on loan at Southampton – facing an uncertain future.
