Tanguy Ndombele’s nightmare Tottenham career could come to an end this summer after the French midfielder was reportedly left angry by Jose Mourinho’s surprise training session, according to L’Equipe.
The 23-year-old, who joined from Lyon for a club-record fee last July, has severely struggled with his fitness since making the switch to England – starting just 12 Premier League matches throughout the 2019-2020 campaign, and was publicly called out by Mourinho after last months 1-1 draw against Burnley, a game in which he was pulled off at the break.
Such is his fitness problems, earlier this week, Mourinho suddenly turned up at Ndombele’s house and asked the midfield man to come and train with him and both Davinson Sanchez and Ryan Sessegnon, despite the quartet breaking the government’s clear rules about social distancing due to the Coronavirus pandemic – with the Portuguese later apologising for his actions.
And the report from the French outlet suggests that Ndombele has told his agent that he wants to leave North London this summer – with Barcelona, who were keen on signing him before he joined Spurs in 2019, expected to come again for the French international.
The La Liga giants have already been in touch with Ndombele’s team and would be keen on bringing him to the Nou Camp.
