Tottenham will consider a move for Paris Saint-Germain right-back Thomas Meunier if they are unable to lure Max Aarons from Norwich City this summer, according to Football London.

Meunier has made 27 appearances across all competitions this season but may have played his last game for PSG as he is out of contract in the summer. It remains unclear whether Europe’s top leagues will recommence by the end of June, when Meunier’s deal expires.

Football London claims Spurs have shown an interest in Meunier before, but the club’s current first-choice right-back target is said to be Aarons, who has impressed for strugglers Norwich this term.

However, the report suggests Tottenham may look at Meunier if Aarons is unattainable. The Belgian would certainly be much cheaper – free, in fact – though his wage demands might be bigger than Aarons’.

From where we’re standing, while Meunier would add experience and allow funds to spent elsewhere, Spurs shouldn’t pass up the opportunity to sign one of the most promising young players in the country. Aarons should be the priority.
