Tottenham are thinking about making a move for Porto starlet Fabio Silva, according to reports in Italy.

Silva has made nine appearances in the Portuguese top-flight this season despite still being just 17. The striker scored once in those nine games, only one of which was a start.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claims the Portugal Under-19 international is attracting plenty of interest, including from Manchester City and Juventus. Spurs are also said to be keen and are apparently mulling over a move.

However, the report cites chairman Daniel Levy’s reluctance to sign unproven young players for big money, and so a deal is deemed unlikely for now. That said, Calcio Mercato suggests Harry Kane will leave Tottenham ‘sooner or later’, meaning the Londoners will be looking at potential recruits up front.

Ironically, Silva recently beat Spurs defender Serge Aurier in a FIFA 20 tournament that was streamed online.

While Tottenham definitely need a new striker to provide back-up for – and possibly take over from – Harry Kane, a more experienced centre-forward is probably the priority. Silva could be one for the future, though, if he is able to fulfil his potential.
