Gareth Bale has been discussing Tottenham’s memorable run to the Champions League final in 2018-2019, admitting that he was heavily invested on the progress of Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
The Real Madrid man joined Peter Crouch and host Jake Humphrey on #UCLThrowBacks on BT Sport on Tuesday night, following the rerun of Spurs’ first leg semi-final defeat to Ajax.
After talking about Madrid’s last 16 exit to the Dutch outfit, the panel moved on to Spurs – and the ex-White Hart Lane favourite said something that will only increase speculation about the possibility of Bale making a return to N17 in the coming months.
He said: “Everybody loves tuning in to watch the Champions League and Tottenham were there so I had a very keen interest & was hoping they would get to the final, and they did.
“And for us Tottenham fans it was a bit disappointing in the final.”
