Rafael van der Vaart has picked his dream Tottenham 5-a-side team, choosing from the footballers he played with during his time at White Hart Lane.
Between the sticks he went for Heurelho Gomes, whose massive arms and shot-stopping ability would be ideal in those small 5-a-side nets. He’d also have plenty of protection from Van der Vaart’s defensive pick, Ledley King.
In midfield the Dutchman chose Luka Modric. The Croatian would be impossible to take the ball from, and he’d be key in feeding Van der Vaart’s attacking selection, Gareth Bale.
VDV’s choice of Peter Crouch up front might seem strange, but remember, Crouchy had deceptively good feet and was pretty effective in tight spots. All of which results in a very capable 5-a-side team!
