Tanguy Ndombele has provided a significant update on whether he’ll be staying at Tottenham this summer, amid speculation over his future.

The 23-year-old, who joined from Lyon in a record deal last summer, has struggled with injuries and fitness problems during his first season in the Premier League.

Ndombele has shown glimpses of quality in games, but has generally found the pace of the English game tough to handle, starting just 17 games in all competitions, scoring twice.

And recent reports this week saw the French midfielder linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona – who tried to sign Ndombele before he joined Spurs – in a swap deal for international colleague Samuel Umtiti and right back Nelson Semedo, following on from recent rumours that he wanted to leave the club.

However, on Monday evening the ex-Lyon man responded to those reports on social media with a video on Instagram of some of his best moments in a Tottenham shirt, with a caption that translated to ‘nothing to report’.

  1. I would give him a full season here, Barcelona are no mugs they wanted him before us last season, players dont always hit the ground running also the Premiership is far more physical.

  2. The offer is temping given our defensive needs but but another season is best..remember Sonny first .season

  3. Tanguy can turn out to be on a par with Dave McKay.

Based on what I have seen Tanguy DO if he is on song for 90seconds a game every goalscorer we can get into the box can add 6 goals a season to their tally.
