Dele Alli reckons Tottenham’s biggest rivals at present are Chelsea and not Arsenal, given the history between the sides in recent seasons, which started with the famous ‘Battle of the Bridge’ in May 2016.

Spurs also lost out to the Blues in the 2016-2017 title race, whilst Mauricio Pochettino’s men suffered more misery against the west London outfit in the FA Cup semi-finals in the same campaign.

Alli, who has scored six goals in nine career matches against Chelsea, was speaking on COPA90 Football’s online show hosted by Rio Ferdinand.

And after revealing that his two favourite Tottenham goals came in a 2-0 victory over the Stamford Bridge outfit in January 2017, Ferdinand went on to ask Alli who are the club’s biggest rivals.

Alli admitted: “I think if you ask the fans they will probably give you a different answer, but if you ask the players and how games have been going, and the league, I think the rivalry we have with Chelsea is bigger than Arsenal, truly because what they have done to us in recent years.

“Maybe with fans it’s different, the north London derby is massive and that rivalry will always been there.”
