Former Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov has revealed that beating Chelsea in the 2008 League Cup was his fondest memory at Spurs.
The popular Bulgarian, who scored 46 goals across two highly successful seasons at White Hart Lane, was asked the question during a Q&A on his official Instagram account – and didn’t hesitate in choosing the day he won his first major trophy in English football.
In case you’ve forgotten, Berbatov scored a second-half equaliser from the penalty spot against the Blues, before Jonathan Woodgate headed home a famous extra-time winner.
Berbatov on his memories at Tottenham:
"Winning the cup in 2008, beating Chelsea at Wembley, I scored in that game. My first trophy in England, it was a special moment."
"Every game for Spurs was special for me. I loved it! I have so much respect and gratitude for the team." pic.twitter.com/bxZk0ICepD
