Michel Vorm has agreed to stay at Tottenham for the final nine Premier League games of the season, according to Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas.
Vorm was released by Spurs at the end of last season, but re-signed just three months into the 2019-2020 campaign to cover for Hugo Lloris, who suffered a long-term injury at Brighton in October and missed almost four months of action.
The Dutchman signed a short-term contract upon his return to Tottenham, but with the Coronavirus pandemic causing the season to extend into the summer months, Vorm’s current deal has expired.
However, Sky Sports are reporting that the 36-year-old is willing to extend his deal and remain with Jose Mourinho’s side for their remaining nine matches.
Vorm has featured just once this term – the FA Cup fifth-round defeat against Norwich City – and unless Lloris or Paulo Gazzaniga get injured, is likely to have played his final game for the club, but will continue to act as third goalkeeper.
