Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy does not want to sell the club’s record signing Tanguy Ndombele this summer, according to Football Insider.

Despite showing glimpses of his massive potential, Ndombele has struggled to settle at Spurs and has rarely started since Jose Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino in the dugout last November.

As a result, the Frenchman’s future has been a source of speculation in recent weeks. Back in April we relayed a Sky Sports story claiming Barcelona are willing to offer defenders Samuel Umtiti and Nelson Semedo in exchange for Ndombele.

But now, Football Insider is reporting Levy has ‘put the block on’ the 23-year-old’s exit just a year after he arrived from Lyon for a fee that could rise to £62.8 million (per BBC Sport). Levy and the rest of Tottenham board are apparently convinced Ndombele will come good eventually and do not want to sell him this summer.

Ndombele did not feature against Manchester United last Friday despite the new allowance of five substitutes in the Premier League – Mourinho only used two options from the bench in the 1-1 draw.
