Tottenham could make a loan move for Gareth Bale late in the transfer window, according to Football Insider.
Bale has been linked with a return to Spurs in the past, but now it seems he is closer to leaving Real Madrid than he has ever been.
The Welshman asked to be left out of Real’s squad to face Manchester City in the Champions League this week and was pictured playing golf on the day his club were dumped out of Europe (via the London Evening Standard).
And Tottenham apparently could offer Bale a way out of Madrid if he is keen to depart in the coming weeks.
Football Insider believes Spurs are keeping tabs on the 31-year-old’s situation ahead of what would be a sensational ‘late-window’ loan move for their former talisman.
It is believed the Londoners will rely on Real picking up a big chunk of Bale’s £600,000-a-week wages, which is surely the only way a deal will happen.
Bale would certainly add flair and firepower to Tottenham’s front line, but we’ve heard this all before – there’s no reason to get excited yet.
Imagine bale and Kane together … Wow!!
The prospect of bale and son either side of kane in a mourinho team does seem to be the stuff of dreams but I havent forgotten bales last season where we were so uncreative despite having Bale, Adebayor, Dempsey and Siggy. In my opinion, Lucas’ position in the front 4 is open to improvement and an advanced creator would be the perfect player to compliment the options we have there. That is not to say that there isnt the possibility that a midfield of Hojbjerg, Nombele and Lo Celso could work with that front 3 but I would only want Bale if we also signed a creative player like Matheus Pereira or Said Benrahma to go with him and to allow us to play different potent attacking systems.
With Bale though, he can play as a striker aswell and at pretty much the same height as kane, he can be the big target man, so surely a loan for bale has to be better than a purchase of callum wilson.
Any one thinking of seeing Bale at Spurs next season is completely and totally deluded.
Just can’t and won’t happen so just forget it and stop writing these pathetic articles.
Bale’s actions at madrid of late are the actions of a player pushing to be sold or loaned out. Not like his regular behaviour. Now what that means in transfer terms, we dont know. Real are probably going to have to subsidize his wages in order to get rid of him, unless he takes a move to china. I think, once you accept he definitely wants to leave madrid, the idea of moving to be with Jose, in a system that suits him with a club that loves him, its definitely possible in the absence of any bids forthcoming so far, that we could take him on loan.
He could cover our right forward position which is weak aswell as covering as back up for kane. So we could definitely use him, plus he’d be a big PR success for the club and an intimidating presence next to kane and son. The only question, at this moment anyway, is whether a package can be agreed that suits madrid, spurs and bale. Someone could yet come in and bid big for him but whilst that hasnt happened there is definitely an opportunity with madrid desperate and bales fed up there and pushing to go.
Bale will NOT come back to us (Tottenham) I would love to see it.but for us spurs fans we will can only see him in a spurs shirt again if we put him in our fantasy football dream team
