Tottenham’s first-half team for today’s pre-season friendly against Birmingham City has been confirmed.

The match is Spurs’ final pre-season fixture at home before they take on Watford at Vicarage Road next weekend, all in preparation for the Premier League curtain-raiser against Everton on September 13.

The big news is that Joe Hart makes his first Tottenham start. The goalkeeper, who arrived on a free transfer earlier this month, will begin the game between the sticks after coming off the bench in the last two friendlies.

He is protected by a back four of Serge Aurier, Eric Dier, Cameron Carter-Vickers and young left-back Dennis Cirkin.

Harvey White starts in midfield again, this time partnered by Moussa Sissoko. Gedson Fernandes looks like he will also play in midfield, while Ryan Sessegnon and Jack Clarke are on the flanks.

Lucas Moura is seemingly the lone striker. Harry Kane is on the bench and could make his first appearance of pre-season.

  1. He seems to be giving gedson a good old tryout. Obviously he isn’t going to get into the mid with gio, hojbjorg, dele and ndombele in front of him but if he can become versatile and cover LB, mid and attack he will be a super player for us but if he doest then he just goes back to his club and we don’t make the move permanent.

  2. Gedson will cost a large fee to buy he is ok on loan but once the loan spe is over we need to get rid. Walker peters was a much better right back and gedson has no chance of a midfield tole
