Tottenham face Watford in their final pre-season game on Saturday.
Spurs side have enjoyed three consecutive home victories against Ipswich Town, Reading and Birmingham City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Jose Mourinho’s men step up their preparations for their Premier League opener against Everton on Sunday week.
However, with a host of Nations League and other international matches taking place over the weekend, Mourinho will make the short trip to Vicarage Road without a host of first-team players that will no doubt be in contention to start the game against the Toffees.
Hugo Lloris, Ben Davies, Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier, Matt Doherty, Moussa Sissoko, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Gedson Fernandes, Ryan Sessegnon, Steven Bergwijn and Harry Kane are all on international duty and unavailable, whilst Harry Winks could also miss out.
It means that there will be opportunities for others to stake a claim for a starting-place ahead of the new campaign.
Here’s how we think Mourinho could start against the Hornets.
Possible starting XI: Hart, Aurier, Sanchez/Tanganga, Carter-Vickers, Cirkin, White, Lo Celso, Lamela, Alli, Lucas, Son.
Tanguy Ndombele and Danny Rose have also not been called up for international duty, but you’d imagine that neither will be involved.
