Tottenham’s Premier League campaign officially gets underway with a home game against Everton on Sunday.

After a shortened pre-season in which Spurs managed to strengthen the squad, Jose Mourinho has a number of decisions to make regarding his team selection.

According to the club’s official website, Japhet Tanganga has been ruled out with a thigh problem while Mourinho will make a late decision on Giovani Lo Celso’s availability – the 24-year-old has a hamstring injury.

In better news, all three summer signings are available. Joe Hart could be on the bench as cover for Hugo Lloris, who will start between the sticks.

Matt Doherty could make his debut at right-back as part of a back four. Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld should be the centre-backs, with Ben Davies starting on the left.

In midfield, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could also play his first competitive match in a Tottenham shirt. He’ll partner either Moussa Sissoko or Harry Winks – we think it will be Sissoko given Winks missed England duty through injury.

Dele Alli will then support a front three of Lucas Moura, Son Heng-min and Harry Kane.

  1. That midfield is full as dishwater. Long long looooong way from Hod, Ardiles, Waddle and Galvin etc. Joe Hart is number 2 after it was just a supposed “home born” player. Now it’s one injury away from him being the starter. What is going on here?? Hardly top class clientele to match the “world class” stadium. ENIC con jobs.

  2. I think I might have put Sessingyon in instead of Sissoko.
More attaching legs and capable of defending. We could then have Sissoko on the bench to give some midfield steel as the game Progressed if necessary.
Would also hope Steven Berjwein will be on the bench.
