Tottenham are ready to make an offer for Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose, according to reports in Italy.

Jose was heavily linked with Spurs back in the January transfer window, but at the time Fabrizio Romano revealed the clubs had failed to reach an agreement.

The 28-year-old has scored 56 goals in all competitions across four seasons at Sociedad, hitting double figures in each of his four La Liga campaigns there – including 11 goals in 37 league appearances last term.

And now it looks like Tottenham could be about to revive their interest in the player.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claims Spurs are ready to make a bid worth between €20-25 million for Jose.

It is unclear whether that will be enough to tempt Sociedad into selling. Jose has four years remaining on his current contract, so it’s unlikely he will be allowed to leave on the cheap.

Tottenham are in need of a striker to provide back-up for Harry Kane with games coming thick and fast in the coming weeks.

And after Sunday’s disappointing defeat to Everton, the sooner another goalscorer comes in the better.
