Tottenham start a ridiculously busy week with an EFL Cup tie against Chelsea at home on Tuesday night.

With Son Heung-min already becoming the first of what could be a few casualties during the packed schedule, Jose Mourinho – who says numerous personnel changes are inevitable this week – has a number of decisions to make regarding his team selection.

We think Mourinho will make nine changes to the team that started against Newcastle United, albeit he will still be able to field a strong XI.

Joe Hart is likely to come in for Hugo Lloris between the sticks, with only Eric Dier surviving in the back four. Dier will be joined by Serge Aurier, Toby Alderweireld and debutant Sergio Reguilon.

Tanguy Ndombele should partner Moussa Sissoko – who has hopefully recovered from illness – in the middle. Dele Alli could start as the most advanced midfielder if Mourinho deems him worthy of a chance.

The Spurs boss should be extra careful with Giovani Lo Celso, who started the season with a hamstring problem. Hopefully he is used cautiously across the next three games.

Steven Bergwijn and Erik Lamela will support Harry Kane in attack. Mourinho will probably try to limit Kane to an hour.

Here’s our predicted XI to face Chelsea – what’s yours? Let us know in the comments section below.

  1. Good team but always luck is against….they never been in a condition to compete with the best team when required…injury prone team…..whenever they are on the mood to win…..a member has to quit…and thats how trophys continue to be scarce….

  2. Most injury prone,non achieving,
unimaginative team in EPL.We have a great ground but useless team.Sell Dele Ali,Eric Lamela, and
give Sessignon a fair go.Winks is
boring and sell Aurier and Sissoko.
