Just four days after Jose Mourinho revealed that Heung Min Son would be ‘out for a while’ – the Spurs boss hasn’t yet ruled the Tottenham forward out of the trip to Manchester United on Sunday.

Son sustained a hamstring injury against Newcastle and was replaced by Steven Bergwijn at half-time.

“We’ll have him out for a while, it’s his hamstring,” the Portuguese admitted after the game.

Son then sat out last night’s Carabao Cup tie against Chelsea and looked likely to spend a number of weeks on the sidelines.

However, Mourinho provided a significantly positive update after the Blues victory – and said that the 27-year-old would return after the international break, meaning he’d only miss two more matches.

15 hours later, Mourinho was once again questioned about Son’s fitness and confirmed he won’t play against Maccabi Haifa in the Europa League, but didn’t rule him out of featuring at Old Trafford this weekend.

He said: Sonny of course is not playing tomorrow. He’s a doubt for Sunday, a big doubt. I don’t want to say he doesn’t play and then he does because my position is in doubt.” (Quotes via Football.London)
