Danny Rose started Tottenham’s Champions League final defeat to Liverpool less than 18 months ago, but is now being linked with a loan move to Championship side Middlesbrough, according to Football Insider.

The 30-year-old hasn’t been involved in any of Spurs’ matches since returning from his loan spell at Newcastle, and wasn’t given a squad number for the campaign.

Rose’s last action in a Tottenham shirt came against Liverpool back in January – and according to recent reports, he has been training with the club’s Under-23s.

He appeared on the verge of joining Genoa earlier in the window, but nothing materialised and he stayed at Spurs.

However, ahead of Friday’s domestic deadline, Neil Warnock’s Boro have launched an outrageous loan attempt to bring Rose to the Riverside for the season.

He’s in the final 12 months of his deal in North London and would be available on a free next summer whether or not he decides to leave before 5pm on Friday.
