Carlos Vinicius marked his Tottenham debut with two assists and the Man of the Match award against LASK in the Europa League on Thursday night.
The Brazilian, who joined Spurs on loan with a view to a permanent move from Benfica earlier this month, set up goals for Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min in a comfortable opening victory for Jose Mourinho’s men.
Gareth Bale, making his first start since returning to the club, also provided an assist for the own goal that put Tottenham 2-0 up.
But it was Vinicius’ night, with Spurs supporters voting him man of the match in a Twitter poll ran by the club’s official account after the game.
His assist for Lucas’ goal was particularly impressive. Vinicius demonstrated his knack for holding the ball up before executing a perfectly weighted pass for his countryman.
The 25-year-old’s second assist was a smart header that landed in Son’s path – the South Korean was hardly going to miss in his current form.
After Tottenham announced Vinicius’ award on Friday morning, many Spurs fans responded on Twitter. Here are some of the best reactions.

Poor quality opposition, but the touch of that pass and header for both assists was nice. If we’re down we could actually have 2 strikers on pitch, what a time to be alive
