Remember Vlad Chiriches?
The Romanian defender was one of the ‘Magnificent Seven’ bought with the money Tottenham received for Gareth Bale in 2013.
Seven years later, the world is upside down. Bale is back at Spurs and Chiriches is scoring worldies in Italy.
The centre-back – who also played on the right at times Tottenham, to no great effect – played a significant role in Sassuolo’s comeback against Torino on Friday.
Sassuolo were 3-1 down with six minutes to go when Chiriches produced a stunning shot from distance. The hosts eventually drew level and the game ended 3-3.
