Tottenham are waiting to hear from Wales about the extent of a possible ankle injury Gareth Bale picked up against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday, according to Football London.
Bale was substituted with 10 minutes to go before Harry Kane headed in a late winner at the Hawthorns.
The Welshman has been building his match fitness in recent weeks and scored his first Spurs goal since returning from Real Madrid against Brighton.
But a photo (via Football London) of Bale having ice applied to his ankle was shared after the West Brom game, leading to fears he had suffered an ankle injury.
The 31-year-old did not limp off when substituted, so there is a good chance it was merely a knock or a precaution.
And Football London claims Bale has joined up with Wales for the international fixtures over the next two weeks.
The report says Spurs are now ‘waiting for updates’ from the Welsh camp, and that Bale will likely be rested for Wales’ friendly against the USA regardless.
Tottenham fans will just be hoping he is fit to face Manchester City after the break, even if that means he misses Wales’ Nations League games in the meantime.
Moura should start against City and Bale used as impact sub.
