Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has admitted he “would never say no” to working with Jose Mourinho again after the pair had a spell together at Real Madrid.

Mourinho and Khedira both joined Madrid in 2010. The former spent three years in the Spanish capital, while Khedira left for Juventus in 2015.

The Germany international remains at Juventus but has just one year left on his current contract, meaning he will be free to speak to foreign clubs in January.

And by the sounds of it, he wouldn’t be against a move to Tottenham.

Speaking to Sky Sports Germany, Khedira spoke of his admiration for Mourinho and talked up the possibility of playing for the Portuguese coach again in the future.

“He is always honest, direct, clear in his mind and a great coach,” Khedira said (as relayed by Football London).

“Many people talk about him [being] too defensive but he is a winner, he is a champion. That is why he impressed me the most.

“I really enjoyed working with Jose Mourinho but there are many coaches who I would like to work with.

“I would never say no again to Jose Mourinho but it is not the only guy who I would say I would like to work with again.”

Of course, a move would be dependent on Spurs being interested in Khedira – there is no sign of that at present.

Mourinho has plenty of depth in central midfield, and Oliver Skipp will provide another option when he returns from his loan at Norwich City next season.

Khedira will be 34 by then and it’s unlikely Tottenham will give a contract to a player entering the final years of his career.
