Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been nominated for the Premier League’s Player of the Month award for November, it has been announced.
The Premier League confirmed the nominees on Friday via the EA Sports website. Hojbjerg is joined on the list by Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell, Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, West Ham United’s Angelo Ogbonna and Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse.
Hojbjerg has been excellent form of late, helping Spurs to go unbeaten in the Premier League last month. The Londoners haven’t lost since an opening day defeat to Everton, and Hojbjerg has been an ever-present rock in front of the back four.
The Denmark international is perhaps unlikely to win the award due to the fact most of his work goes unnoticed. More flashy players like Fernandes and Grealish are probably the favourites.
But being nominated is a big achievement for Hojbjerg, who has become an instant fan favourite and Tottenham and is hugely deserving of some recognition.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has been shortlisted for the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award having led Spurs to an unbeaten November.
