Tottenham’s Under-18s were involved in a thrilling FA Youth Cup game at Hotspur Way on Tuesday afternoon – with one teenager, that’s already featured for the first-team this season, producing a scintillating performance.
Whilst Alfie Devine became Spurs’ youngest goalscorer by netting at Marine on Sunday, it was another 16-year-old in Dane Scarlett that scored a remarkable five times as the Tottenham youngsters came from 2-0 down to claim a 6-2 victory in Enfield and progress to the fourth-round.
Scarlett has already been involved with the senior team, and prior to Devine’s appearance on Sunday, was club’s youngest ever player when he appeared against Ludogorets in the Europa League group stages.
But whilst the teenager might find opportunities hard to come by in the coming months – with Tottenham approaching the latter stages of the domestic cup competitions and the Europa League, the striker is clearly one for the future.
Here’s how some Tottenham fans reacted to Scarlett’s Youth Cup performance on Twitter.
