Tottenham’s starting line-up for their Premier League visit to Manchester City has been confirmed.
Spurs are aiming to bounce back from their midweek FA Cup exit at Everton, but they are likely to find it hard going against Pep Guardiola’s in-form table-toppers. That said, Jose Mourinho masterminded a home victory in the reverse fixture, which was the last defeat Manchester City suffered.
Mourinho has made one surprise selection to try and get a positive result. With Serge Aurier unavailable through injury, Japhet Tanganga comes in at right-back. The youngster is preferred to Matt Doherty.
Other than that, the team is pretty much as expected, though it is perhaps surprising to see Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez partner each other at centre-back, with Toby Alderweireld having to settle for a place on the bench.
Erik Lamela, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane all impressed at Everton and start here. They are joined in the front four by Lucas Moura. The likes of Dele Alli, Gareth Bale and Steven Bergwijn are all among the substitutes.

Oh god. Enough to say I’ll go City 5-1 with at least two pens. Think the manager is trying to manipulate his own exit here.
