Tottenham’s miserable Premier League form continued following a 2-1 defeat to London rivals West Ham.

Michail Antonio opened the scoring before Jesse Lingard doubled the Hammers’ advantage early in the second period, meaning Lucas Moura’s header was just a consolation.

Hugo Lloris, 5 – Hardly covered himself in glory for the opener. Made a sharp stop from Craig Dawson’s header.

Japhet Tanganga, 5 – Steady performance before he was hooked at half-time having not done too much wrong.

Eric Dier, 3 – Absolute shocker for the opener, which was the start of another extremely ropey afternoon.

Davinson Sanchez, 3 – Embarrassing attempt at stopping Lingard for West Ham’s second.

Sergio Regulion, 6 – Returned to the side and provided some much-needed energy down the left for Spurs.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, 5 – Another really below-par afternoon for the Dane, who was all over the place at times during the opening period. Improved after the break.

Tanguy Ndombele, 6 – Showed his usual nice touches and kept working hard in order to get Tottenham up the pitch.

Heung Min Son, 6 – Created good chances for Lucas in either half and almost made it 2-2 in stoppage-time in freak circumstances, but his effort came back off the inside of the post.

Erik Lamela, 7 – His early run and pass created Tottenham’s first chance of the game for Kane. The Argentine then went close himself with a curling effort but was taken off at the break after picking up another needless booking.

Lucas Moura, 6 – Offered nothing in the first-half but came alive in the second. Scored an excellent header to make it 2-1 before firing over moments later when he should have done much better.

Harry Kane, 6 – Saw a few first-half efforts saved by Lukas Fabianski before his free-kick whistled just past the post after the break. Squandered a guilt-edge chance to set up either Alli or Son, who were both in the middle.

Substitutes:

Gareth Bale, 8 – Replaced Lamela at the break and really took control of proceedings. Had an early effort saved by Fabianski before his corner was headed home by Moura. Moments later he was so unfortunate to see his rasping half-volley crash off the crossbar. Despite the defeat it was a really positive performance from the Welshman, who simply has to start now.

Matt Doherty, 4 – Didn’t do enough for West Ham’s second, whilst his crossing was awful.

Dele Alli, 5 – Struggled to get into the game.

  1. Generous for Dier, always going to cost us a goal, every game he starts. I would prefer Rodon or Tanganga in the back line. Anybody tell me why we sold a young, home grown, pacey KWP to be replaced with a clueless donkey from Wolves? Does Doherty know how to cross the ball? Son looks fed up and will be gone at the end of the season, Kane too probably. Well done to Jose, he ruined Chelsea, got sacked, ruined Man U, got sacked and has turned Spurs into a mid table boring bunch of rubbish. Relegation form if not for a decent start to the season.

  2. Doherty is very poor with kicking the ball as he does not have skill how to kick the ball
He should have to go at summer time and get Max Aaron’s
Spurs must stop using Davidson and Diet as defenders partners

  3. Due to the fact that we don’t have a settled side, Jose keeps picking the WRONG SIDE.
Whoever plays now is rusty and consequently play a max of 2 games then is out again.
Jose keeps picking a side to get us out of the mire for this game only. He needs to build a team, don’t forget 10 weeks ago we were top!!!!

We have players out on loan performing much better than our current 1st team. e.g. Foyth, Skipp, Sessegnon, lately Parrot as well

  4. Dier is not a good defender i agree with guy who said they should have brought Max Arons than Matt. Kyle Walker Peters he is playing a good game but they let him go. Missing the good type of soccer during Pochettinos time

  5. Not good enough for Chelsea, Man it’s, or any Spanish team ! SO WHY HAVE WE GOT YESTERDAY MAN, PLAYING YESTERYEAR FOOTBALL. !!! we don’t play defensive football, grab a goal then park the bus ! It’s not the Tottenham way,. He was never the right fit for spurs ! he has not got our DNA ! I & MANY SPURS FANS ARE REALLY SUFFERING AS WE CONTINUALLY GO BACKWARDS !

  6. Jose
Must stop playing dier and Sanchez together saying that they were poor in an under statement (Rodon must start with Toby or Tanganga)
    Lloris was poor again
We need to strengthen three/four positions in the summer centre half’s and goal keeper and obviously backup for Kane
Jose brings on Doherty and yet again he was terrible he couldn’t cross the ball to save his life
Sonny and Moura were poor holding on to the ball for to long
    Bale was the bright spark
But on the bright side(if there is one)we played better and should have got at least a point

  7. If you look at different sites, people’s opinions differ and people’s ideas on the game and players performance’s. So let’s talk fact, we could sign Messi but once he puts the cursed spurs shirt on he would be crap.
Fact we have lost yet again, we won’t get top four, am the money that comes with it, we are the team who put six past united and beat City before Christmas, we now can only beat pub teams, we bottled the Chelsea game and froze against City and Liverpool, on paper we have no defenders worth shit, but forwards who are good enough for any team, who”s fault is it nobody can get them to perform, will somebody please tell me, and don’t tell me to sack the chairman or the manager, even though I don’t like mourino would anyone else do better

  8. I am a life long spurs supporter, when I was eleven my parents let me go with my friends to my first live game, 1967.arsenal at Highbury we lost 4-0, on display for us that day were my two favourite players of all time, Jimmy Greaves and pat jennings, and also two of our greatest legends Jones and mackay, and that was the start, since then I have had the pleasure of watching great players, but apart from 1982 and 85, never great teams, owners, managers and players come and go and we still flatter to deceive, and nobody likes us, why because we all of us believe we are an elite club, are trophy haul suggests otherwise, we behave as though we have a right to sit at the top table, I remember Almost bankruptcy in the late 80,s and feel huge gratitude towards Lord sugar and enic, but what now,
