Gareth Bale has continued his excellent goalscoring form by putting Tottenham ahead against Crystal Palace.

The Welshman scored a brace against Burnley last weekend, which came after he netted in both legs of Spurs’ Europa League tie with Wolfsberger.

And Bale kept up impressive run by scoring his fifth goal in six matches in all competitions, tapping home Harry Kane’s cross following some great pressing from Lucas Moura to steal possession from Luka Milivojevic.

Unfortunately for Tottenham, Christian Benteke’s header in first-half stoppage-time meant the sides went into the break on level terms despite Palace being under the cosh for most of the opening period.
