Tottenham look set to miss out on Wigan Athletic starlet Kyle Joseph, who has been offered a pre-contract by Celtic, according to Football Insider.
Their report says Joseph’s contract expires in the summer and Celtic are moving early to beat Spurs to the striker’s signature
Joseph, 19, has made 14 appearances in League One so far this season, scoring five goals and impressing enough to earn links with clubs like Tottenham and Celtic.
But it seems Spurs will lose out on his signature to the former Scottish champions, if Football Insider’s report is to be believed.
Tottenham have Dane Scarlett coming through the academy while there are still high hopes for Ipswich Town loanee Troy Parrott to one day emulate Harry Kane.
With that in mind, there shouldn’t be too much disappointment if Joseph goes to Celtic – Spurs have plenty of attacking talent in their youth ranks.
Besides, there is no guarantee Joseph will go on to great things.
Obviously there is still time for Tottenham to offer Joseph pre-contract of their own if the teenager if a genuine target.
