Harry Kane has broken his silence after a disappointing week in which Tottenham’s hopes for qualifying for the Champions League took a huge hit.
Damaging defeats to Arsenal in the Premier League and Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League have greatly reduced Spurs’ chances of playing in Europe’s elite competition next term.
Hugo Lloris gave a passionate, damning interview after the capitulation in Zagreb on Thursday, but the team’s outfield leader, Harry Kane, has been quiet about the situation – until now.
The England captain took to Twitter on Saturday insisting Tottenham must bounce back against Aston Villa on Sunday to put things right.
Indeed, Spurs could end the weekend nine points off fourth place if they lost at Villa Park and other results go against them, which would pile the pressure on Jose Mourinho.
In the meantime, some Tottenham fans have been replying to Kane’s social media post. Many expressed their wishes for the striker to stay put, while others suggested his verdict on the past few days wasn’t strong enough.
Check out some of the range of responses below.
Time to bounce back tomorrow after a very disappointing week. No words will atone for the last 2 games, we just have to show our response on the pitch! pic.twitter.com/Ug3QqdLXmk

Finally, someone speaks
And no surprise, it's Harry— ft1882cøys (@thfc_varun) March 20, 2021
Seriously ?? Disappointing ? I would call it shameful and disrespectful to the badge and the club we love !!
Accept responsibility and do something about it as players ….. The haters will blame the owners and the management team but it’s you guys over the white lines— Bill Wallis (@BillWallis18) March 20, 2021
Respect Harry. Thank you for speaking up. Lead us for the rest of the season ?

I wish more players would do this. Most of em are hiding out. I get that. It’s embarrassing
But I think a lot of fans would at least appreciate what you just did: acknowledging and taking some responsibility.
God knows there is plenty of blame to go around.
Show us you care.

You’re literally the only one who doesn’t need to apologise Harry. You deserve better than this.

We will see tomorrow if the players have it in them to show their ability and metal for 90 mins and play for the badge, the manager and their pride or if they couldn’t care less/Mourinho hasn’t got the capability to motivate and set them up.
I fear the latter.
Why is Kane apologizing, he and Son always play with pride and helps the team other dead wood basically steal a living by blaming Mourhino and spread a bad aura around the club, reason being is that Jose unlike other Managers, tells you straight that you are not good enough and I guess they don’t like that.
They have all gave up full stop if they want to do that refuse to pay them if they don’t like manager or what ever they r still get thousands of pounds a week to play to win not half hearted being nice fancy flicks
Auier dier Sanchez sissoko winks dele bale lamela rose can all do 1 liability ever team plays the same way against us attack down our right hand side or a ball over the top of our rb – rcb n not 1 of the 2 cant do anything about it worst back 3 apart from reguillon I’ve seen at spurs
I agree 100%. Dier is the worst “defender” i have EVER seen and as you said good for nothing Sanchez isn’t far behind him, I think Dier and Mourhino are shagging that is the only reason i can see why he keeps picking him.
Spurs are useless players don’t care anymore Harry kane is a legend I saw him play on TV and I knew he was the big thi g in years to come what a fantastic player he’s got everything in his locker good luck to him if he left us it would show up this rubbish for what they really are money grabbers who care nothing about my club so sod off the lot of you and take Harry as a proper example of how a player should perform no matter what I’m bloody fuming with levy and mourinho they can sod off too
The last 2 matches were so disappointing. To loose to our biggest rivals Arsenal was bad enough but then to loose in Europe was really bad. Over the past few weeks it has not been the Tottenham that I know & love so we must get back to winning ways starting today against Aston Villa.
