Predictably, Erik Lamela has won the Premier League’s Goal of the Month award for March for his stunning rabona against Arsenal.
The Tottenham star struck in the first half of the north London derby to put the visitors ahead, but Jose Mourinho’s men went on to lose 2-1 at the Emirates.
To make matters worse, Lamela was sent off.
Still, the Argentine’s rabona will go down as one of the great north London derby goals, and the scoreline cannot take away the sheer quality of the finish.
Unfortunately for Spurs fans, the goal may always remind them of defeat, which is never a nice feeling in the derby.
Indeed, a number of supporters were understandably conflicted when Lamela was named as the Goal of the Month winner.
On social media, many fans congratulated the 29-year-old on his win, while others couldn’t prevent it from reminding them about losing to their bitter rivals.
Below we’ve collected some of the best Twitter responses to Lamela’s award – hopefully in the future he can score a stunner and finish on the winning side!
If anybody ever asks who is Erik Lamela… show them this game, the most Coco match you'll ever see tbh. Comes on, goal of the season contender, gets sent off.
