Tottenham squandered another golden opportunity to move into the top four after drawing 2-2 with Newcastle.

Jose Mourinho’s side looked on course for the three points that would have seen them move above Chelsea and into fourth when Harry Kane’s quick-fire brace cancelled out Joelington’s first-half strike.

However, on-loan Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock crashed home a equaliser to ensure Spurs dropped more points late on from a winning position in a Premier League match.

But whilst Tottenham were guilty of not killing off the game, their defensive display was even worse.

And perhaps no one epitomised Spurs’ wretched performance at the back than Davinson Sanchez.

The Colombian centre-back’s shocking afternoon started early on when his poor header gifted a chance for Joelinton, although he could only fire straight at Hugo Lloris. But just before the half-hour mark the Brazilian striker took full advantage of a hapless clearance from Sanchez, whose poor distribution constantly put Tottenham on the backfoot.

His performance led to an angry response from Spurs supporters on Twitter. And we’ve been looking at how they’ve been reacting here:

  1. Ffs sack our defence coach what on earth does he go through in training with these guys also how has Sanchez gone backwards so far we will be lucky to get a 5 pound note for him also levy needs a mention for not buying in a experienced centre back to train these guys beside him.

    Dybal of Juventus should replace Lamela
    Skiner of Inter Milan in place of useless Sanchez
    Have no confidence in Mourinho

  6. Sanchez wasnt useless today, he is useless everyday. Just a poor player. Why is he still in team? Sell Kane FFS? We should be keeping him & Son , Rodon will be ok , but almost everyone else are not good enough to play for Spurs. Kane isnt too good for Spurs , he is the required standard. The board needs to sell up. Trouble is , this useless defending has gone on with different players & managers over years. Sanchez should NEVER play again , or Dier. Major overhaul needed

  8. With Davinson Sanchez, this season is over. Sanchez is a huge liability and a total disaster as a defender. Jose needs to take himself and Sanchez and depart as soon as possible. He is a whole and utter embarrassment today.
