Tottenham could offer Erik Lamela a new contract, according to Football.London.

The 29-year-old’s current deal in north London expires next summer, which has led to increased speculation surrounding the Argentine’s future.

Lamela is wanted by Serie A outfit Bologna, with Tottenham reportedly keen on cashing in on the former Roma man to avoid him leaving for nothing when his deal runs out in 12 months time.

But Football.London believe that Spurs could be about to offer Lamela fresh terms, which would take him into his tenth campaign in the capital.

Despite a calf problem restricting the attacker to just 18 Premier League appearances this term, Lamela has generally been a regular under Jose Mourinho when fit, featuring in all-but one of Tottenham’s previous 18 games in all competitions and that was because he was suspended following his sending off at Arsenal.

Lamela always splits opinion, but when fit he remains a good squad player, so it’s probably worth keeping at this stage of his career.

  1. Worth noting that Juan Foyth and his fellow defenders had no such problems dealing with the Dynamo attack tonight as ours did.
Mourinho should never have let Foyth.
Not only is Mourinho not advancing or winning anything with us, he is slowly destroying the Club and players. He should be sacked forthwith.

  2. I think it important to renew Erik Lamela’s contract with the club. He’s a real competitor. I like his skill, concentration on the task in hand and sheer tenacity. As for Juan Foyth, his leaving Spurs has not strengthened the club.
