Ryan Mason couldn’t confirm whether Harry Kane will be fit for the Carabao Cup final this weekend.
Kane suffered a late ankle injury in Tottenham’s draw at Everton on Friday following a incident with Richarlison, leaving major concerns over his fitness ahead of Sunday’s final with Manchester City.
Mason revealed that Kane didn’t train on Monday or Tuesday, but admitted that the England captain is taking it “day by day” as he looks to prove his fitness for the game at Wembley.
Kane scored twice at Goodison Park to take his impressive tally in all competitions this term to 31 goals, and his availability could go some way to helping Tottenham win their first piece of major silverware for 13 years.
He’s suffered other ankle problems in the past, and missed two matches back in January before missing eight matches in the build-up to the Champions League final two seasons back.
Mason said: “Not sure. He didn’t train today. Taking it day by day. Not sure about the weekend yet.” Quotes via Football.London.
