Tottenham will not be signing Carlos Vinicius on a permanent basis, Sky Sports have confirmed.

Signed on a season-long loan from Benfica, the Brazilian striker has started three Premier League matches, and hasn’t been involved in any of the three matches under Ryan Mason.

Vinicius wasn’t even included in the squad for the Carabao Cup final or the weekend win over Sheffield United, and Sky Sports believe that Spurs aren’t interested in paying the £36m option-to-buy clause which was included in his loan contract.

His only Premier League goal came at Aston Villa in March, with the remainder of his nine goals coming in the Europa League and FA Cup, including a hat-trick in the third round win over eighth-tier side Marine.

The report therefore believes that Tottenham are keen on replacing Vinicius and bringing in another striker to support Harry Kane this summer, with a back-up forward reportedly high on their priority list.
