England manager Gareth Southgate would be interested in taking over at Tottenham if he is sacked after Euro 2020, according to the London Evening Standard.

Spurs are still looking for a new head coach after sacking Jose Mourinho last month following a disastrous run of form.

And the Standard believes Brendan Rodgers, Graham Potter and Ralph Rangnick are chief among the candidates to take over in north London.

However, with all three of those names proving difficult to lure away from their current jobs, Tottenham are also said to be casting glances at Southgate and Belgium boss Roberto Martinez.

The Standard claims Southgate is ‘flattered’ by Spurs’ interest and would likely go for the vacancy is he fails with England this summer and loses his job.

However, the report suggests the 50-year-old will not walk away from the Three Lions for a club role – so it sounds like he will only join Tottenham if he is sacked by the FA.

And let’s be honest: if England have a bad Euro 2020, will Spurs really want to appoint Southgate? We’re not so sure.
