Harry Winks’ future at Tottenham could depend on that of Dele Alli, and vice versa, according to Football London. Let us explain.
The Spurs squad could look quite different next season, with Football London claiming up to seven members of the current first-team squad could leave.
The report says Dele Alli is now likely to stay after reclaiming his place in the starting line-up in recent weeks.
And so now that Dele is set to stick around, it is believed there is more leeway to let Winks leave.
That’s because Tottenham were apparently concerned about letting too many homegrown players leave in the same window.
Put simply, if Dele were to leave then Spurs might feel they have to keep Winks because they need to maintain the squad’s homegrown quote.
But with Dele feeling settled again, the Londoners may now be open to selling Winks.
If the situation changes with Dele, however, Tottenham may feel the need to keep Winks around.
We think there is a good chance both players will remain at the club beyond the summer, but only time will tell.
